Dont want to sell them, was just wondering about there value. With all the different years and sizes didnt know if there was a book or something that broke it down.
I recently did the same thing about a bow Im buying, and got some great information. Give the model and serial number, glass color and coin type and Ill be able to determine the year of manufacture. Glass powered Grizzly, 58 50, gold coin, kr76317 Thanks in advance. Yours has a couple holes in it from the sight and that will bring down the value some. Id clean it with vegetable oil and Pledge.no kidding:) BTW get an AMO 58 string or any string that measures 55. The Black Bear model isnt a sought after model so Id put a value on it of roughly 75. The grizzly is a more sought after model than the BB and a rough estimate would be 125. How did you learn all this stuff, was it just from expierience or is this info available somewhere. In hoping she really shines and becomes a new favorite I do like the super high gloss look that they would have had new. I am very familiar with Bear Archery products, and by extension of being a Michigander, Fred Bear. ![]() The clear coat on the riser and limbs is kinda wearing, hazy and some light cracking, but its just the clear coat- epoxy or poly of some sort. So some 400-600 wet or dry sandpaper and respraywipe of some new clear ought to make er shine again. ![]() The original Dacron string is still there, but Ill get a new one just in case. I just need some 600 spine arrows with feather fletching to go with it Damn arrows are as expensive as buying a bow nowadays Not great pics, but you get the gist. I always felt if it wouldnt have landed on him I could have gotten another shot. It was a beautiful bow that was stolen by a couple rednecks we had working for us. New its 399. So Im pretty happy that it wont need much invested to be enjoyed again. I think itll be a sweet shooter with a new rest, string and some refinishing of the clear coat. They are great old bows Nothing fancy, but they get the job done. Should be safe to go as I see no cracking or stress indicators. BTW if those lights you have the bow hanging on get hot, you probably shouldnt hang the bow on or too close to them. Exposure to high heat can damage the gluesepoxies that hold the limbs laminates together. Refinish that oldertime as a winter project and post up the results. Otherwise wyatt might think its his now, and we cant have that Ill definitely get this girl cleaned up and post the results.
